Turn Tin Cans into Wall Art/Organizer

Photo Image: Easy DiY at Home
Blank walls sometimes make us so nervous that we run out to Pier One or World Market and buy generic pictures to cover the blankness. Ick! If you're scared to pick up a paintbrush and a blank canvas, this simple idea from Easy DiY at Home shows you a simple way how to add metallic shine and bright repetitive pops (sorry, I swore I wouldn't say that anymore) of colo » READ MORE
Vintage Card Table Turned Wall Art

Filed in the 'how clever is this?!' folder is Candy's use of an old card table as wall art. She noticed a stack of them at the side of the road. When she spotted the black and white table in the pile, she knew where it was going and what she was going to do with it. Home and on the wall!

Ten Picture Arranging Guidelines
By ModHomeEcTeacher
Photo from The Style Files
Lately I've noticed more than a few picture arrangements being hung curiously high on the wall. I'm not sure if this is due to a bona fide trend, or if individuals (close friends and relatives of mine) aren't aware that there are, in fact, some general rules to follow that bring cohesiveness and balance to an arrangement. » READ MORE
Push Pin Wall Art
By lilybeeA few packs of push pins, a pin board, a dash of inspiration (and possibly a little too much time on your hands at work) And Voila! Gloriously geeky wall art!

It's Mario. and push pins. and genius. Golf claps and whoop whoops to you, clever chaps at the Student Computing Center at the University of the Fraser Valley.
Personally I just don't think I'd have the pushpin-application chops to do this freehand like these guys, but maybe some square lined paper would keep things from going wonky.
Have a peek at the close ups, they really are pretty awe-inspiringly marvelous

Curbly Video Podcast: How to turn an old window into illuminated wall art.
By DIY Maven
I have a thing about windows. Especially barn sash windows, one of which just happened to be lying around. It was too good not to turn into something, so kicked around some ideas and came up with a wall art/light fixture idea and went to work.
What we used:
an old barn sash window
scrap 1" x 3" pine
a piece of handy board
frosted glass spray
Contact paper
scissor and paper punch
LED light strip
table saw, screws, drill, nails hammer, etc.
What we did:
The BIRDS!
By lilybee
I saw these delicious wallpaper birdies on a post over at Ohdeedoh just before I went away and instantly wanted them or something like them, so instead of packing like I should have been I bungled together a DIY version, using Origami Paper and this website here which has lovely anatomically correct birdy silhouettes.

You can probably figure it out yourself but what I did was:
- choose a bird whom I liked the shape of, in this case » READ MORE

Fine Art Quilting
By HillaryJohnson
I just bought this art quilt from artist Monica McGregor to hang in my living room. It is hypnotic, complex, and very jazz era cubist. If DeKooning were a quilter, I think this is what he'd come up with.
Cuter Closets
By sortabellaTotally brilliant idea: MommySavers.com suggests paint pens or permanent markers to decorate walls. It's one of those thoughts I probably harbored subconsciously for most of my childhood and never tried for fear of my mother's wrath.
But now that I'm all grown up, I think I'm going to give this a go--except rather than writing quotes on the wall as the MommySavers article suggests, I'm going to decorate around my closets. I have two side-by-si » READ MORE
