Reversible Tank Top Beach Tote (No sewing machine required!)

By simplyfunstuff

If you're like me, you probably have a lot of stuff in your closet that you never wear. Well here is a way to upcycle those old tank tops into useful and oh-so-cute reversible beach totes. And the best part is, you will not need a sewing machine (which is good, because I don't have one or any clue how to sew)!

Teenage Mutant Sewing Turtles

By ModHomeEcTeacher

created on: 06/21/08

Five Day Turbo Sewing Camp for teens just finished yesterday.  I say Turbo because they learned how to use the machine in two hours and spent four days (two hours each) sewing, jamming the machines, designing and giggling.  It was hard to keep them supplied with fabric.  Even though it was too short to teach them the perfect sewing skills, they got the feel of the machines and discovered they could create some sweet stuff on the sewing machine. » READ MORE

Candy Corn Tote

By SilverWing

My new favorite fall accessory!  I love tote bags, as I'm always needing to carry things with me, be they books, craft projects, or otherwise.  I loved the way this bag turned out.  I added the "chocolate" candy corn color to give it a little more punch.  ^^  It's a simple single crochet stich done with four different skeins of yarn.

Make a bird seed bag grocery tote!

By stephee

I am looking everywhere for reusable materials these days, and I found my husband throwing away this giant bird seed bag, which was about to be used as a trash bag. This is an easy project!

The finished bird seed grocery tote.

The material's a bit hard to work with - a kind of woven plastic, so I used m » READ MORE

How to Turn a Tote Bag into File Tote

By DIY Maven

Portable file totes are a great way to store papers, but they’re generally very utilitarian. However, if you want a more attractive and inexpensive alternative, you might want to convert a straw handbag or basket into a personal file cabinet. The whole process took me about ten minutes and cost–no kidding–$2.50.

What you’ll need:

A straw tote or basket that will accommodate letter or legal-sized manila file folders (I found the perfect st » READ MORE
