Submarine Bathtub
By DIY Maven
The Porthole tub from The Water Monopoly has portholes, which shouldn't come as a surprise, considering it's name, but considering it's a bathtub, it does. I can picture it in black for a very steampunky quality. » READ MORE
DIYable TV Easel?
By DIY MavenI love the look of wall-mounted televisions, but every time I see one I can't but help think that the homeowner who chose to do such a mount is stuck with it. That's why I'm really groovin' on this tv easel » READ MORE
Steampunk Office (in a Steamer Trunk)
By DIY Maven
Restoration Hardware's Mayfair Steamer Secretary Trunk may or may not be the most practical solution for a small office space, but it's hands down one of the most awesome things I've ever seen! Duuude! It's an office...in a TRUNK!! » READ MORE
Dandelion Light Sculpture
By DIY Maven
Lonneke Gordijn's 'Fragile Future' is subtitled 'electronics and dandelions', which is the perfect description for this marriage of technology and nature. Made of a collection of LED's, phosphorous bronze and dandelion seeds, the light sculpture has a fanciful steampunk-y quality about it. If it wasn't fabulous enough, the piece automatically shuts off--sort of like a defense mechanism--when people come too close to it. Via.

The Wooden Mirror
By DIY Maven
Daniel Rozen's wooden mirror is nothing less than remarkable. It's a collection of 830 tiny wooden panels that are connected to a camera and controlled by a computer. The panels flip with the help of tiny motors and use shadow to 'reflect' images that pass by. My simplistic explanation pales in comparison to the mirror in action. (I love the sound it makes too.) Robotic Sculpture
By DIY Maven
Christopher Conte makes artificial limbs for amputees. Combining his interest in human anatomy with his love of sculpture has resulted in some very unique creations that have caught the attention of Wired, Popular Science, Make Magazine, The Discovery Channel and MTV Networks. In 2007, he began making his 'microbotic' pieces available to the public. To see Christopher's on-line portfolio, visit his website. Via.

Like Victorian Steampunk? You're gonna LOVE this.
By badbadivy
I was hooked on steampunk since I saw the movie Wild Wild West. There's even an entire Victorian Steampunk sim on Second Life. I think it's crazy-cool. That's why, when my cousin IMed me with a link to this keyboard, I about crapped my pants with glee. There are step-by-step instructions on how it was made, so you can make your own.
Now I'm totally wanting to steampunk out my whole computer. Would that not be the coolest?
