How-To: "Snowflake" Pumpkins.

By Chrisjob

A paper pumpkin: easy, fun, inexpensive, festive, and.....asymmetrical. Even the steadiest of scissor-wielders can't get those chubby sides quite even. Unless, of course, you borrow a technique from a different holiday.

Turns out, the easy-paper snowflake folding technique can work wonders on jack-o-lanterns, and, presumably, on all sorts of fall flair. Click here to head to MerMag for an easy photo how-to.

Holiday Finale: Snow-Stuffed Christmas Ball

By DIY Maven

created on: 12/23/08

Okay...just ONE MORE Christmas-y thing before the big day! I was so inspired by madamsewingstick's knitter's Christmas ball, I decided I had to go for the crocheter's version. Of course, if you don't crochet, you could 'stuff' your ball with a small paper snowflake or even one made out of craft foam, but if choosing foam, I might opt to dust it with some fine crystal glitter to make it look not so foamy. Basically, I did what madam said she did » READ MORE

Snowflake Lights.

By Chrisjob

Nothing sets a festive mood like a fresh lighting scheme. From tiki torches at a summer BBQ to a full-on romantic candlelit dinner on Valentine's day, there's always something incredible about the unique glow at special occasions.

But such an investment for once-a-year is a bit wasteful...well, at least it used to be. Requiring only a scissors and some completely reusable L.E.D. votives, Design*Sponge offers this project: snowflake lights. Bea » READ MORE

3-D Paper Snowflake.

By Chrisjob

Okay, so this was cool enough to make it to Curbly last holiday season, twice, (see here and here), but it's too excellent and easy not to point out again for a whole new group of Curbliers whom might not have been around last December (including me!)

Materials

  • 6 sheets of square paper
  • tape
  • stapler
  • scissors
I'm off to make at least five.

DIYable Snowflake Table?

By DIY Maven

The 18 snowflakes that hold up the glass top of Nendo’s Snow Table are ‘white lacquered, veneer coated MDF’. For someone with a scroll saw and patience, it might be the perfect puzzle for the avid DIYer. Using thin sheets of MDF (a quarter inch?), repeat the snowflakey pattern 18 times; cut three of four dozen slots to fit them all together and you’re good to go.

For those with no patience or scroll saw or both, the designer original is » READ MORE

make your own crystal snowflake

By ckilgore

crystal snowflakeHow do y'all feel about the big momma of craft ladies, Martha Stewart? I know, for some reason, I shouldn't like hr, but dammit, some of the stuff she (or her staff) come up with is so cute. And it really made me sad that they quit publishing Martha Stewart Kids, because that was the best mag in the whole line of publications. All the activities, the graphics ... it was just yummy.

What was I talking about? Oh yeah ... crystal snowflakes. I saw th » READ MORE
