ReadyMaker Phoebe Streblow took a colander she found at a thrift store and rigged it into an adorable hanging planter using a wire hanger and a length of chain. It works out beautifully because of the depth of the bowl and the sturdy metal handles on the sides to wrap some wire (or chain) around for hanging. Have you heard the buzz about these upside down (inverted) tomatoes? You can buy pricey containers and plastic bags in an effort to try this inverted growing technique, but here’s a really inexpensive and, I think, more attractive method than the other DIY how-to’s I’ve seen.
