Ten Unusual Uses for a Colander.

By Chrisjob

The colander. It drains liquid away from solid stuff you don't want soggy, and, well, not much else.

http://www.thedailygreen.com/cm/thedailygreen/images/Fe/8-leslie-honey-into-colander-07.jpg

Except, apparently, it does! DIYLife has assembled ten clever uses for this seemingly at-first-glance multi-tasker.

1. Grease splatter reducer.

2. Warm a serving bowl.

3. Berry storage.

4. Bathtub toy scoop.

5. Play accessory.

6. Craft template.

7. Bug tent.

8. Wind chime.

9. Lamp shade.

10. Holiday display.

Craigs List Scavenger!

By erinloechner

So I'm home sick today (send flowers!), and what else to do but scour Craig's List for the latest finds in home decor?  Naturally, I'm bringing Curbly along, a la Apartment Therapy style.

Speaking of Apartment Therapy (I swear this post IS going somewhere, Ben), how DO they do it? Find such gems, that is? If you're new to the concept, Apartment Therapy offers scavengers from Craigs List almost weekly. Yet when I log on to Craigs List, I find the » READ MORE

New Year...New Beginnings...Getting Organized..Planner

By sparkie

Hi There!

OK, I really should get a planner and write down things instead of keeping them all rotating and revolving thru my mind.  Especially for to-do lists.  (I can make a hellofa long Honey-Do list to myself).

I tend to have a few, read: longgggggggg list of tasks I wish to do, planned daily.  If I write it down I may be more realistic on what I can actually accomplish and can see what I have already done.  It can be fun to make a list and sc » READ MORE

A painting a month in 2007...

By elizabethperry

I have been learning to draw by drawing every day in sketchbooks for almost two years (and posting the pictures to my blog).  I have had a lot of fun with this project, but you can't really decorate a room with a bunch of little sketchbooks alone, so I would like to make a set of pictures to put on my walls in the coming year.

So here is my list:

To encourage me, Danny Gregory's book Creative License: $10.88.
