She's Particular's Chain Mail Laptop Bag reminds me Lizzie Gardiner's American Express Oscar dress (pictured below), only much more practical. Nobody re-wears those Oscar dresses, whereas this, hey, now we're talkin'. Not only is the bag awesomely medieval, it provides some serious armor for your MacBook. You can check out the entire tutorial over on Instructables.

By ModHomeEcTeacher

created on: 07/26/08

Made from Anthropologie-looking fabric, the Laptop Messenger Bag has  a smooth chocolate brown recycled leather strap (from an Ann Taylor skirt) and a back pocket cut out of a recycled bomber jacket.  To be perfectly honest, I did take the outside pocket right off of my original Placemat Hack: Flaptop Laptop Cover.  This handy messenger version is easy to carry, quilted on the inside and has the added details of topstitching and that fabulou » READ MORE

Hot Lap? Get The Lapinator.

By DIY Maven

If you’ve spent any quality time with a laptop, then you know how much heat those chugging chips can produce, which makes for one toasty lap. Maybe okay in the wintertime, but in the summer the electronic warmth sort of negates the air-conditioning. Enter the Lapinator. Weighing 11 ounces, the Lapinator is constructed out of Thinsulate™, which, they say, blocks 95% of the laptop’s heat. DIYable? Maybe, but at $24.95 it’s not that big of an inve » READ MORE
