How To: Pillow Form Workshop

By ModHomeEcTeacher

created on: 11/06/08

Making the perfect pillow form is like buying the right bra; it determines if your handmade, custom pillow looks professional and smooth or wrinkly and tacky.  The right measurements and the even distribution of filling are the hallmarks of fabulous throw pillows.  Pillow forms can be cut out of almost any fabric.  Keep the fabric plain and preferably a light color.  Inexpensive muslin always works well.

Here's a look at my favorite place... a cafe that i (finally) own.

I'm proud to say that we made almost everything ourselves. The materials for the furnitures are taken  from salvaged old woods, sink from an old bucket, and light fixtures from rice bowls and eating utensils.

It was my lucky day when I found that green and hot pink wallpaper on sale at some swanky interior boutique. I could have never afforded it had it not been 30% o » READ MORE

FURNITURE TREND: Tufted Furniture Gets All Buttoned Up

By TheHome

Tufting is no longer just seen on vintage upholstery. This classic detail is re-emerging with new shapes and contemporary styling.

Originally employed to secure cushioning to the backs and seats of upholstered furniture, tufting today is also more for visual interest than practicality. Tufting adds dimension and drama to upholstery because it highlights the fabric and casts shadows in the tufts. When tufted, each type of fabric has a » READ MORE

HELP ME: Interior design ideas!

By ukmusicfreak

Right now we have a fairly oversized sofa, chair and ottoman, as well as a too large armoire/entertainment unit in the room. Our problem is that really only two people sitting on the sofa can see the tv. That's fine, since it's only my husband and I (and our 11 month » READ MORE
