Couch Arm Cup Holders

By Runeshai

created at: 2009-08-09

Useful, re-imaginative and darkly hilarious blog Good Rubbish came up with this idea as a birthday present for someone in their life: cup-holders mounted to the couch arms where their beloved one apparently loved to keep their coffee mugs while reading the paper.  Some quick and clever DIYing, some scrap wood and a couple of mini-plates (some ash trays might look cool) and they came up with this:

Tissue Pillow

By DaiquiriDiva

With allergy season well on it's way, and cold and flu season not quite over, what better companion to wallowing about in sinus misery than a tissue pillow! Or, as they say on their site,"The perfect gift for all crybabies, for those suffering from heartache or for trashy novel readers. " Here's the original post I found with the pillow for sale, but I can't imagine it would be too hard to DIY.

The most clever use for the martini glass since the cosmo!

By swelldesigner

created on: 08/05/08

Recently at a friend's wedding, they had a mashed potato bar and it was super yummy.  They used a martini glass to serve it up and I thought this was one of the most clever buffet ideas I had seen in a while.  They had the works to the side of the fluffy potato goodness - gravy, sour cream, bacon bits, cheese, chives, and salsa.  I thought this was not only a great idea for a wedding, but for a future dinner party or evening gathering!

How To: Hide Wires in Between Your Carpet and Wall.

By Chrisjob

This trick is a classic: Instructable-maker Condongolev highlights the basic, but clever, technique of sliding cables, cords, and wires in that tiny groove between the carpet and the wall. Just extend the wire, and use a pointed, but blunt object (like a broken pencil) to push it into the little space. Works great for speaker wire, coax cable, power supplies, etc.

Is This Art?

By DIY Maven

A company by the name of Charpics Technologies is billing itself as "First Of It’s Kind." Using some sort of state of the art technology, they convert digital and print media into "charcoal and colored pencil style renderings/simulations." Hmm. Simulations.

One can make the argument that all artistic renderings of "real" objects are simulations of the actual things themselves, even if the things only occur in the imagination. The outcome of th » READ MORE
