Never say never, as in "You'd never catch me dead living in a trailer!" I'd gladly haul this little 350 square foot, fully sustainable vacay home around the country. My Cardboard House Remodel
By DIY Maven
Last week MWT brought home this cute little two-story house with a request that it be remodeled for entry into a 'parade of homes' contest sponsored by the company for which he works. There was no word as to whether prizes will be given out to the best remodel, but, seriously, did I care?! Of course not! It was a teeny house just ready for a makeover! Here's the outcome:
Put Her in a Pumpkin Shell
By ModHomeEcTeacher
Didn't anyone else imagine, as a kid, what it would be like to live in a pumpkin shell or an oversized shoe? Boy, I did. Happily, I just discovered that dome builder, Steve Miller and I must have been on the same wavelength. In 1997, he, his wife and 1 1/2 year old daughter set out on a dome building adventure like no other. Today, their two story Vermont pumpkin house has been enlarged and improved upon more than once. » READ MORE
An Upside Down House.
By Chrisjob
I've seen a few over the years: homes with the facade flipped, roofs in the ground, patios pointed to the skies; though, inside, things are as usual, and perfectly liveable for those of us suffering from gravity.
But this new installation in Germany is something different all together: the floors are in the air, tables hang from above, and the toilets flush towards the heavens...
Ugly House Photos.com
By ChrisjobThey came from the dark, murky depths of Craigslist and part-time suburban realtor classifieds...Careless, cluttered, and often unbearable, these are, as the comments for this photo remind us, "these are the actual photos that sellers approve to market their homes."

The Edge House.
By Chrisjob
I realize that walking around in Mobius Architect's edge house doesn't necessarily demand one has to lean at a thirty degree angle, but I like to envisioning its inhabitants doing so. The Edge House will sit upon a excavated limestone hill, and "aside from its site, the Edge House’s most striking feature is a front elevation dominated by a steep, shingled roof, pierced by windows and a large terrace jutting over the site of a former quarry. What a $69,900 Doll House Looks Like
By DIY Maven
Peter Riches, a retired builder from Hove, Sussex, has spent the last 15 years building this miniature mansion. Oftentimes staying up until 3 am working on it, Peter made the home's shell out of plaster into which he hand-etched 32,000 bricks. If that wasn't impressive enough, he also cut the 5,000 tiles he used for roofing material.

Cave House
By DIY Maven
Curt Sleeper fell in love with a cave. And then built his house into it. The 17,000 square foot cave has three chambers that are separated by cinder-block walls. The entrance is sealed with 24+ windows made of recycled sliding glass doors. Curt bought 300 of the doors for 3 bucks a piece. The cave's kitchen--yes, it has a kitchen--features granite tile counters and two ovens.

The dwelling requires a commercial-grade de-humidifier, but it » READ MORE
Building a dream
By DaiquiriDiva
Just wanted to share my parents' website. They built their house in the 70's by hand; no power tools, no electricity, no running water and using mostly wood from their property or salvaged materials. Over the years there have been additions and upgrades, but it's always retained its charm. Click on the "OUR HISTORY" link to see their story. The house is cute, quirky, and cozy...and has always been an inspiration to me of how you can make so » READ MORE
