By ModHomeEcTeacher

created at: 2009-04-20

The dremel has to be one of the most adorable power tools ever. Why then is it so difficult to figure out where to use it? All those cool attachments have to be useful for something. While I'm experimenting, check out this YouTube » READ MORE

3 Free Dog Biscuits Recipes You Can Make At Home

By Valeri

Here are 3 free dog biscuits recipes you can make at home for a lot less money than you think. Treating your dog to something special has never been this quick, easy and inexpensive. You may never have taken him to a doggie day spa (too prissy), doggie day care (too many other dogs), or even had a doggie walker (too impersonal), but now’s the chance to put on your tallest chef hat, lace up that apron, and get to work on some of the best dog » READ MORE

Repurposed Twin Headboard

By ModHomeEcTeacher

created on: 06/21/08

Repurposing a headboard: make a slipcover for it (as above), dog bed, a doll bed, a child's low platform bed, the back of a wide chair, a tabletop, cut an opening and use as a frame, a mirror frame, if it's slatted, upholster it, if it's solid, paint a picture in the center, decoupage a favorite image in the center.  It killed me but I cut off the legs of this headboard so it would sit on the floor.  I drilled holes for long bolts and attached » READ MORE

Sculpted Labradoodle Birthday Cake–AMAZING!

By DIY Maven

created on: 06/19/08

I hesitate to label Elisa Strass of Confetti Cakes a cake decorator. She’s an artist. Plain and simple. Proof of her extraordinary abilities are exhibited in this video of her sculpting an image of her father’s labradoodle. It took her four days to complete the project.

Ikea Doll Bed Goes to the Dogs–or Cats

By DIY Maven

Jules over on Ikea Hacker had a great idea of turning Dukig Doll’s Bed ($25) into a kitty bed. A few coats of black matte paint and a homemade animal print cushion and you’d have a bed fit for any small furry family member. Aww!

The Doggie Lamp

By DIY Maven

This just might be the cutest, cleverest thing I’ve seen in a very long time. Nicholas Gonzalez Garrido’s Guide Dog is a lamp that helps you find your way. Get this, imagine walking into a darkened room, whistling to your doggie and he lights up. That’s right! He works like a Clapper but with a whistle! No word on if or when the pooch will be available to the public, but he should be. Via Yanko Design.

"Let Sleeping Dogs Lie"

By ModHomeEcTeacher

created on: 03/05/08

I submitted my DIY Project to Design Sponge on Sunday evening.

I'm not sure when it will be posted, but I'll get back with you on that.  Staying in line with all things dog-like, I wanted to post a picture of some of my favorite dog beds (hint of what my DS project is).  I especially love these two since the fabric is a houndstooth (get it?) check.  I'll be building a curved platform and headboard for the pink one, and will be donating it to » READ MORE

DIY Pet Food.

By Chrisjob

food

My intense allergies will never allow me to share my home with any fuzzy quadrupeds. But were I able, I'd love to create amazing meals just for them. So, pet-lovers, throw out your canned pastes, extruded hydrogenized goos, and recalled nasties and give some of these a try.

Dog is a God....

By DIY Maven

and, as you'd probably expect, her house is FABULOUS! Check out these palatial  pooch pads from Dog is God.

For the progressive deity, check out this oh-so-mod palace.

For the more traditionally-minded divine doggy is this lovely temple.

And for the deity on the go--hey, you never know where mankind might need your services--is this Airstream wanna-be.

Pooch Palaces

By DIY Maven

In addition to play houses, La Petite Maison custom builds dog houses, which means your doggie’s dream house can be designed to his, hers and your specific needs and tastes.

Want a Victorian dog house? You got it. Contemporary? No problem. How about an exact replica of your own home? Yeah, you can have that too.

As far as amenities, some pooch pads may include marble floors, tract lighting, copper roofs, bay windows, and central air, to name just » READ MORE
