The Zipper Cup.
By Chrisjob
The modern interlocking zipper was perfected in 1914 by Swedish-born Gideon Sundback. "Sundbäck developed a version based on interlocking teeth, the "Hookless No. 2", which was the modern metal zipper in all its essentials. In this fastener each tooth is punched to have a dimple on its bottom and a nib or conical projection on its top. The nib atop one tooth engages in the matching dimple in the bottom of the tooth that follows it on the other s » READ MORE
Styrofoam Cup Art.
By Chrisjob
Whenever you have the unfortunate occassion to be at an event that still serves hot beverages in styrofoam cups, you either 1) say "no thank you, it's 2009, and I won't use polystyrene any more, where's the drinking fountain"; or 2) suck it up, feel bad for compromising, enjoy your cocoa, then proceed to impress teeth marks around the top rim, and, if you're really bored, around the bottom angle.
Couch Arm Cup Holders
By Runeshai
Useful, re-imaginative and darkly hilarious blog Good Rubbish came up with this idea as a birthday present for someone in their life: cup-holders mounted to the couch arms where their beloved one apparently loved to keep their coffee mugs while reading the paper. Some quick and clever DIYing, some scrap wood and a couple of mini-plates (some ash trays might look cool) and they came up with this:

Mr. Happy (aka the Smilecup)

The only way cocoa and a cookie could be any better is if they were served on this grinning guy. The Smilecup by Psyho is actually a plate with two eyes and a half a cup for a mouth. Via.

2 Carat Cup
By DIY MavenYou could describe this as a cup with a built in 2 carat diamond ring, or as a diamond ring with a built in cup. Either way, it's a fun and glamourous way to sip your morning java. Available with 'gold' or 'platinum' rings, the mug comes packaged in an oversized flip-up ring box, which, when opened, only reveals the ring.

The diamond is actually a Swarovski crystal. Available at Spoon Sisters for $15.95.
It rhymes with ‘nupple’.
By DIY Maven
The Cupple is a cup and saucer combination that fits together via the cup’s handle, which fits into a plastic rubber cavity on the underside of the saucer. The plastic grips the handle so the cup and saucer will never be parted while stored. From drinkstuff.com, £7.99.

Snapable Cups!
By ChrisjobDrink in the coolness of Inv/Alt Design's Snap Cups. They're cups, and they have a snap on them.

You could snap them together, snap a handle on them, or snap on a wine glass stem.

I guess if you've got ceramics skills you could try a DIY route, but these are cool enough to warrant a purchase.

How to Make a To-go Coffee Cup Tissue Pop-up
By DIY Maven
There’s a company out there called WeGo, that sells facial tissues in a take-away coffee cup. In the interest of DIY-ism, I bought one of these cups of 50 sand-paper-rough tissues for 3 bucks so I could pop off the top, rip the guts out and figure out how to make them. Here’s my easy, no-cost version.
What You Need
A cleaned, small to-go coffee cup and appropriately-sized lid to fit (the cup in the example is 4 ½" high with a 3 ½" top diameter) » READ MORE
