A Vogue Dress, via Ikea.
By Chrisjob
They're sturdy, bold, and always under $10.00. And though intended for upholstery, Ikea fabrics can be entirely wearable.
From CraftyCrafty:
"I'm always impressed by DIY-ers who choose less obvious fabrics to make up their patterns (remember the shower curtain dress?) so I was instantly drawn to this delightful dress that Chic Steals made up from a Vogue pattern using Ikea's Patricia fabric. Ikea's a good place to find bold, clean and eyecatching » READ MORE
Holiday How-To: Twine Snowmen.
By ChrisjobCreating the body of these rustic, yet surprisingly contemporary twine snowpeople is simple...Just stack up 3 spools of twine. But the fun and whimsy comes in with this cool trick: wrap some single ply twine around floral wire for some flexible details. The combo of the 2D and 3D elements is unique and somehow quite festive.
"Cut a few feet of twine and unravel it slightly. Squeeze a line of hot glue along an inch or so of the wire and wrap the twine around tightly so the wire is covered completely. Repeat along length of the wire. If you need a longer length, connect lengths of wire by overlapping the ends and wrapping the twine around them as if they were one."
The Paper iPhone.

Whether you simply don't need the fanciness or are merely waiting to get out of your contract with another provider, you don't need a $30/month dataplan to own an iPhone.

By ChrisjobThe best part about my site of the week - Regretsy - is that is doesn't boast an "About" page...it features a disclaimer. And that disclaimer, friends, is this:
"Don’t get us wrong. We like crafts.
We just don’t like these crafts."

How To: Shrunken Apple Heads.
By Chrisjob
I got The Amazing Apple Book for Christmas 1993, and I adored each of its pages. My favorite project included carving a face in a fresh, ripe apple and leaving it out to dry and shrivel into a little fruit flavored shrunken face...though my parents always made me store mine in the basement, and they usually caught a coat of mold.
But, Floral Showers seems to have this perfect fall project down. Super fun!

How-To: "Snowflake" Pumpkins.
By ChrisjobA paper pumpkin: easy, fun, inexpensive, festive, and.....asymmetrical. Even the steadiest of scissor-wielders can't get those chubby sides quite even. Unless, of course, you borrow a technique from a different holiday.

Turns out, the easy-paper snowflake folding technique can work wonders on jack-o-lanterns, and, presumably, on all sorts of fall flair. Click here to head to MerMag for an easy photo how-to.
How To: Make a Fabric Yo-Yo.
By ChrisjobI dare say it: sewing, in itself, is inherently fun. But sewing a project that results in fun? Well, color me in stitches.
Heather Bailey offers just that: a handstiched yo-yo with all sorts of applications... True, it won't actually bounce up and down on string (it is made of fabric, after all), but the fun still begins here.

DIY Halloween Costumes: Start Early
By ModHomeEcTeacher
The ladies are getting a jump start on Thursday nights creatively stitching up costumes for their little candy mongers. We always seem to be rushed due to so many early October high faluttin' Halloween parties these kids have to attend. My rule is that these are the ONLY kids in the enitire world wearing that costume, i.e., be an individual. » READ MORE

How To: Make a Mason Jar Lantern.
