Danby Countertop Dishwasher

The latest countertop dishwasher to come from Danby is a dandy! It's the DDW497W Compact Portable Countertop Dishwasher.

Have you ever become tired or gotten a back ache from doing dishes? Well, you're not alone "studies" show that the low positioning of most dishwashers puts extra strain on the back when loading and unloading.[1]

The Quickest and Cheapest Countertop Upgrade.

By Chrisjob

Plywood. It's good for nearly everything, including the kitchen counter. This how-to article from This Old House describes this easy, and significantly inexpensive option (could be less than $1 a square foot). The best part is, you don't even have to remove the old countertop to install it. Sure, it may not by high end exotic hardwood slabs, but it beats the pants off 80s pink or 90s hunter green laminate.

Remnanats Available

By WeatheredStone

Hello everyone!

We have had a lot of requests from installers and diy's if we have any leftover pieces they can use to try out on a small project. Due to the fact that we have a very good quality control there are not enough remnant pieces to give to everyone who want them we decided to post the remnants on eBay. This is a great way to pick up enough product to do a backsplash, piece of furniture, or small foyer. Here is what we currently have ava » READ MORE

Finish the kitch - Countertop Q

By jasimar

We began remodling our kitchen with new tile floors, Ikea cabinets and a seamed Ikea countertop.  A year or two has passed, bringing baby and other projects.  But we're ready to return now and finish the job.

Our countertop isn't working for us.  We need a seamless alternative and not on the hugest budget.  If we don't want granite prices but want something smooth and modern, where do we go?

Bamboo Countertops.

By Chrisjob

Bamboo is the man. This renewable material has found its way into flooring, cutting boards, serving bowls, furniture, car interiors, and now...bamboo countertops.

Totally Bamboo offers countertops in 1 1/2" thicknesses and in both side grain and endgrain surfaces.

Concrete + Countertops - Experience = ?

By kiddynomite

I am begininng the process of making molds for home made concrete countertops and wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with concrete work in this manner, and if so, what insider tips do i need to know before hand?

Where's a good place to get dyes, stains, glass, and white concrete - things like that.

Thanks!

Installing formica

By foolograce72 I need some pointers.   We have decided to update our kitchen, I am a DIY type of girl-so can someone tell me how to install new formica?  What do you mount it on?  Do you use a sturdy ply wood base and a layer of backer board for the water protection?  I know I can get ready made counter tops at my local home improvement store but these wrap up the wall by about 3 inches and I do not think I want that.  I want a tiled backsplash.  Any help or su » READ MORE

Countertop Greenhouse

By Whamodyne

Finished Countertop Greenhouse with the top open

It all started when I decided to get my mother a herb garden for Christmas.  I had a vague memory of a countertop greenhouse I saw at an Ikea store about 5 years ago.  It was made of thin wood and thin plastic.  I decided that a plain old herb garden starter kit wasn't enough, it needed a greenhouse to go around it.  In my folks kitchen bay window, it would do great.

First thing was getting the major materials together.  These where:
