You can doctor your vinegar into something gourmet.

Check out Part I: Easy Cherry Syrup and a Sparkling Cherry Cooler and Part II: Canned Fresh Cherries, Perfect Over Ice Cream.
With basic canned cherries accomplished, I thought it might be fun to try a twist on preserving the rest of the cherries. I'd seen 'bourbon cherries' in gourmet shops...fresh whole cherries swimming in bourbon, adding that smoky oakiness to the cherr » READ MORE

Cherry Jubilee Week: Easy Cherry Syrup and a Sparkling Cherry Cooler.
By Chrisjob
So, on Saturday, I went to pick up my weekly CSA harvest, and the wonderful young lady pointed to an enormous box of bing cherries, and said, "Also, you're welcome to take as many of those as you want, but they're super ripe, so they gotta be used today."
"Really?" I said, as I grabbed a produce bag.
"Yeah. Take the whole box if you want..."
Well, I DID want, so I took the box, and realized, as I popped my third into my mouth on the walk hom » READ MORE

Knock-Off Dean & Deluca Spice Rack
By DIY Maven
You know that seriously awesome Dean & Deluca, $150 spice rack? Well, Melinda decided to make a knock off and for a fraction of the cost, I'm guessing. What I especially like about the DIY version--besides the cost-savings--is that you can assemble only the spices that you'll actually use and not the ones D & D think you should use.
Dandelion Syrup. Has Anyone Ever Tried It?
By ChrisjobThis recipe from 5OrangePotatoes calls for 250 dandelion tops and 12 hours of simmering and reducing. That's quite a collection of resources and time. But more interesting, what does it taste like? Like dandelion greens (which I adore)? Like other edible flower-based foods? A floral hint to an otherwise simple syrup?
Anyone have any thoughts before I spend twelve hours collecting dandelion tops and another twelve cooking them down?

Choclate, good. Brownies, good. A brownie pan shaped like chocolate bars, gooood. New from Williams-Sonoma, this most excellent 13 1/2" x 6 3/4" x 1 1/4" non-stick, 'chocolate' embossed bakeware item can hold your favorite fudge brownie mix or a flourless chocolate cake. Its downside is that it'll set you back about 30 bucks, but its upside is it's made in the USA and it's totally awesome.

The Tea Bag Coffin.
By Chrisjob
"Where do tea bags go to die?" Your saucer? Napkin? Awkward pile with sugar packets on table?
Nope, says Jonas Trampedach. Give it a proper burial where it belongs, under your teacup.
Clever, useful, and just macabre enough.
