How To Apply Images to Enamel Jewelry.

By Chrisjob

Indie Fixx teamed up with artist Andrea Oda for a helpful tutorial on applying custom images to enamel pendants and other jewelry. The instructions are for an electric ceramic pottery kiln, but seems totally accomplishable. (Is that a word?)

1. While the kiln is warming up, stick your enamel pieces on a wire shelf to create oxides on the surface of the copper. You can also take your copper piece and fire it with a torch in order for the oxid » READ MORE

Radiator plate keeps muffins and coffee warm

By Doug Aamoth

Ceramic radiator heating plate

So simple, yet so smart. It's hard to believe this is just a concept! It's a long ceramic plate called the "Natural Wave" and it was designed by Byung-seok You.

Seems like it wouldn't necessarily take a rocket scientist to create one of these for personal use. Any ceramic experts care to chime in? Easy? Difficult? Cheap? Expensive? The coffee and muffins seem right at home there.

I guess if you've got ceramics skills you could try a DIY route, but these are cool enough to warrant a purchase.

By DIY Maven

Per the website, the lamp is ‘an amalgam of fantasy, artistry, and humor.’ Besides the crazy canine expression, the pup is also sporting human hands. The figure reposes upon a velvet doggie bed–thus the ‘With Velvet Bag’ part–which, when touched, produces a barking sound. According to Priess, she strives for ‘technical perfection that produces a riot of scintil » READ MORE

Bird Houses...if you hate birds...

By modfod

Well, not hate, but not really encourage in your backyard - can you still buy birdhouses?  I keep finding great, looking birdhouses that I really just want to put around my house.  For instance, I love these ones:

I found them, here:
