Rotterdam’s very blue building.

By DIY Maven

Located in the Delfshaven district of Rotterdam, this now very blue building was to be demolished if not given new life. A couple coats of blue paint did the trick. Now one of the most photographed buildings in Rotterdam, the building will remain blue until the community decides its future. The moral of this story: Never underestimate the power of paint! Via.

Splatgirl shares her totally amazing and DIY'd bathroom on Apartment Therapy:

Hello! I would love to share my bathroom. I designed and DIY'd this room from scratch. It includes a poured concrete Japanese soaking tub, concrete countertops and a 9 1/2 foot tall tile mosaic shower wall. It has his and hers vanities and a double shower with ceiling mount rain heads...

Decorating my Living Room for the First Time

By kathyt812

I need help decorating my living room.  I have a lot of dark wood in my living room - there are dark wood beams, and a huge rustic fire place with brown and nuetral stones.  I want to go with browns and blues.  Here is my problem.  If I want to do browns and blues can I have a couch and love seat, and chair that is a greenish brown color?  I have attached a picture of it but in the picture you can hardly tell its green.  Please help.  My inlaws a » READ MORE

Just a touch of Anaglypta

By DesigningMom

I hope this isn't a repeat idea, but here goes anyway....

Below is a picture of a little chest of drawers our daughter was given at birth by my folks.  I don't have a before picture, but it was the typical off whitish color this style of furniture usually is.  It was no longer the right look for our hip 22 year old daughter to use in her first apartment, but because of the sentimental value she wanted to take it with her and use it as a night stan » READ MORE

Impress your guests

By badbadivy

For Christmas, my dad got my mom a present I considered stealing from her. It was a water faucet that makes your water appear to be blue. Now that they have it installed, they make everyone use the faucet in their guest bedroom.

Needless to say, all their guests are highly impressed with their nifty blue water.  These faucets are a techie's wildest, ahem, wet dream. For less than $20, you can make all your friends super jealous!

Color Quest: Underwater World

Blue Planet

Went to one of my favorite sites this AM, Cuteoverload.com and found this gorgeous picture of turtle kisses. Of course, if you've seen my mural pics, you know I have a thing for the world just beyond the surface of the nearest big body of water. Growing up in Minnesota, can you blame me?

What amazing colors. The cooler colors have always appealed to me in home decor, clothing, and art, they are just so restful and soothing. There's » READ MORE

Our Living Room

By alicia

The living room began with faded wood panelling, had a brief stint with cream, an even more brief stint with yellow, and finally settled upon "November Sky". The relationship survived its first year, which says a lot.

When we moved in, the windows were lined with fluorescent panels and heavy wool drapes. I bought simple, cheap cotton fabric buy the bundle from a local fabric shop and sewed like mad (I am a true novice with the machine of sewing). » READ MORE
