The Transformer Tent Sofa

By DIY Maven

What kid wouldn't like a Transformer chair? In this case, this pint sized chair turns into a single tent bed. I hope its designer, Phillippe Malouin, is planning an adult-sized version. If not, with some planning, foam, Velcro, MDF and fabric, it might be DIYable. What the video below to see the chair transform!

The Study Bed

By DIY Maven

created at: 2009-06-03

Study Beds allow you to turn any extra bedroom into a study and back into a bedroom in seconds. What's especially clever about the design is nothing on the desk's surface has to be moved or even disrupted when it lowers and reveals the flip down bed. Available in single and double models. Now for the downside....looks like they're only available in the UK, and they're not inexpensive either. » READ MORE

I have a gorgeous duvet, but when I pin the corners the down comforter still sinks and it ends up that I virtually have two sheets. Why is this? Does it do this for everyone? And how can I fix it?

The Night Owl Illuminated Headboard

By DIY Maven

The Night Owl illuminated headboard was crafted by Lucky Luke Design with small spaces in mind as it eliminates the need for bedside lamps. Each side of the headboard has a dimmer independent from the other. No info on the price, which we all know is code for a lot, which leads me to wonder...is it DIYable?? My vote is yes.

Repurposed Twin Headboard

By ModHomeEcTeacher

created on: 06/21/08

Repurposing a headboard: make a slipcover for it (as above), dog bed, a doll bed, a child's low platform bed, the back of a wide chair, a tabletop, cut an opening and use as a frame, a mirror frame, if it's slatted, upholster it, if it's solid, paint a picture in the center, decoupage a favorite image in the center.  It killed me but I cut off the legs of this headboard so it would sit on the floor.  I drilled holes for long bolts and attached » READ MORE

It’s raining beds.

By DIY Maven

The BedUP, by Décadrages, stores in the ceiling, saving you 4 m²  of space. When you need it, you simply lower the bed to a predesignated height, which makes it unnecessary to move the furniture placed beneath it. An added design feature includes the possible installation of ceiling lighting under the bed. Via.
