Hi everyone....I'm a CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) and owner of my company, Susan Serra Associates, Inc., working mostly on Long Island and beyond as well (new project in the Berkshires, MA!) designing and providing installation of cabinetry for kitchens, baths, built-ins, and custom furniture pieces.

 My work has appeared on three magazine covers, is award winning and frequently published, mostly in Better Homes & Gardens publications. I am often called on as a source of information and ideas to editors of national publications. Please see the "company" page of my website for more information. I am a speaker on kitchens for consumer and industry groups.

Basically, I LOVE kitchens. What I REALLY love about kitchens is the initial survey process, where, when interviewing a client over a couple of hours at one sitting and then in subsequent meetings, little by little the layers of habit are removed to reveal what is a habit and what is a true, desired way of functioning in the kitchen. Some habits will then evolve out of "habit" to new, better, or more efficient ways of functioning in the kitchen. That part's the best. It's a little kitchen therapy.

I also love to explore the aesthetic part, to help move my clients little by little out of their comfort zone, to push a bit, pull back when necessary, but always make sure in the end that they have had ample opportunity in terms of ideas and resources to express themselves fully in their kitchen.
