Need Design Software/Program...Easy

By sparkie

Hi,

I will be making alot of renovations to a house I just bought.  I would like to try using some design software program.  It would have to be easy, user-friendly.  I will have enough headaches actually installing material so I don't want to first have to struggle w/ figuring out designing on a computer.  Am I asking for too much?  I know nothing about this subject.

Also nice to be able to insert my own pic and then change wall colors and more.  I have a terrible time being happy w/ paint colors, even after spending a long time selecting them.  Ironically, I seem to be happiest when I grab some leftover and boo-boo discounted paint at store and mix my own colors.  Humm!  The price is great too.  I just spray painted the exterior of my old house for resale and only cost me less than $25 for paint....(5) 1 gal paints for $5 ea.

Thank you for any suggestions for software.  I will be doing work on exterior too, especially deck and add front porch.

Hi Sparkie.

Good luck with the design program. If you have a hard time, I can draw up some plans for you on CAD. We'd have to arrange a price.

About the color scheme, you can go to Benjamin Moore.com and play around with different paint colors in different rooms. Otherwise you can draw up your room or take a picture, scan it into photo hop, and play around with colors there too. I can also do this for you.

Let me know how it goes. Make sure to post pics of the renovation!

Give Google SketchUp a try--

The free version is free and does a lot. It's easy to use (go through the video tutorials).
