Cuter Closets

By sortabella

Totally brilliant idea: MommySavers.com suggests paint pens or permanent markers to decorate walls. It's one of those thoughts I probably harbored subconsciously for most of my childhood and never tried for fear of my mother's wrath.

But now that I'm all grown up, I think I'm going to give this a go--except rather than writing quotes on the wall as the MommySavers article suggests, I'm going to decorate around my closets. I have two side-by-side in my bedroom that are completely ugly and unwelcoming ... a nice border like the one pictured here in a photo I saw on flickr could make them look much nicer:

It could look a little silly over the doorway, but I love this idea for my closets; a clean and simple way to give them a funky showroom-appeal.

I love this idea!  Very cute and would be quite easy to do.  I do think it would be a good idea to draw your design in pencil first if you're not used to doing things like this.  Or if you want to make sure you like the design first.

A headboard is a great idea too.

I haven't tried it yet; this will come after I paint my bedroom. As soon as I do it though, I will share! Drawing a headboard sounds like an excellent idea.
