Chances are when you think of your toilet paper holder in your house right now, it does nothing for you. In fact, I dare share that most are a bit boring and even downright ugly. But it doesn't have to be this way! Bri of Design Love Fest made three different holders, that are perfect for just about any style . Who knows, maybe when the holder is this fancy, maybe you/your roommate/ husband/kids will be more inclined to actually change the roll.
I love before and afters. They might be one of my favorite things to look at just to see the differences a little or a lot of work can make. I'm currently into bathrooms, but know that I can't break the bank when it comes to a makeover. Here are 7 before and afters that didn't wear out any wallets!
Tiny and tired. That's what Kirsten's master bathroom looked like before its makeover. The 'after' didn't change the square footage, but it certainly did add huge amounts of style. A glass shower door opens up the space visually
Helen Rowell's tiny West Village apartment is one of the tiniest I've ever seen. At just 78 inches wide, it's smaller than a queen-size bed is long. But it IS in the West Village and her rent is only $775 a month. Helen's become quite adept at getting rid of stuff, which she says is
When they moved into their home, Layla & Kevin's bathroom was very purple. Over the years, they transformed it into a little cottage oasis. The purple was swapped for a soft gray/sage, the tile for a wood (possibly laminate) floor, built-in vanity for something with
It's important to invest in quality cleaning products. But what if you're on a budget? From powerhouse sprays to natural mixtures, here are 15 cleaning products we love (that work!) under $30!
Have you ever used the bathroom of one of your favorite restaurants only to find it filthy? That happened to me once. I loved their food, but I couldn't get over the condition of the bathroom. I figured if a public space like that is in such a state, what did their kitchen look like?? Ick. Anyway, the day I used the bathroom was the last day I set foot in that particular restaurant. That's the thing about bathrooms: they leave a lasting impression. If they're clean, then the rest of house
This tiny bathroom needed to be re-done, and fast. It had dated fixtures and no personality. But that's not the case anymore - click through to see the massive transformation.
There weren't very many redeeming qualities about this bathroom, which is why the owners decided to gut it and start fresh. And they did the massive renovation all on their own. Read on to see the stunning final space.
This is one of those spaces that makes you feel relaxed the second you step through the door. Inviting lavender walls, warm lighting and shiny chrome fixtures make you feel right at home. Keep reading to check it out.
There's something so fun about a functional letterform, isn't there? Or maybe it's just the typography nerd in me. But nonetheless, you have to admit that storing cotton balls inside of an ampersand is more fun than storing them in a plain old glass jar.
I was inspired to make typographic storage containers after seeing ones made from cookie cutters on Pinterest (from Willowday). Instead of using cookie cutters, I simply used clay, a favorite font, and a steady hand!
I love the idea of making a bathroom look and feel more expensive without a wallet-busting makeover. Now, granted, the bathrooms pictured in the accompanying roundup aren't your run-of-the-mill bathrooms, but Julia's advice could make a luxurious difference even to the most mundane WC. Below is the CliffsNotes version of Julia's suggestions. Which ones would you consider doing? Which have you already done? Any of her tips
Maybe it's because a ton of schools are closed today due to wicked cold and there will be bored, housebound kids everywhere, or maybe it's because I'm pining for warmer temperatures, but, either way, I find these painted rock cacti
Science, son, is the success behind this project--probably something about the density in the solvent in the polish in relation to the other ingredients in the polish--but who cares? It works! And the results
Have some holiday guests stopping by for a little seasonal cheer and to make your days merry and bright? Good, us too. But, spend your time sharing in some comfort and joy, rather than devoting days to cleaning and making your home look spotless. You can easily make your home "company ready" in a mere half hour.
If you have a small bathroom like I do, sometimes you have to get creative with storage. And one day it hit me (edited: see update below) - why not cut a few bowls in half and attach them to a board to store things like lipstick and manicure supplies? And so this wooden (half) bowl storage idea was born.

Earlier today, we showed you the blank canvas that this bathroom... and look at it now! A unique, modern gem with a focus on both form and function. Continue to see more photos and to read about the makeover.
This home is located in a quaint New England town on a quiet piece of waterfront property. But there's nothing quiet about the style of this house. And their master bathroom, actually, is one of my favorite rooms.
It's not every day that I see a room makeover that *actually* makes my jaw drop. But when I spotted this renovation of an outdated, TILE ALL THE THINGS bathroom it happened -- along with an involuntary exclamation of some sort that can only be attributed to the wondrous powers that this makeover possesses. Guys... it's just so, so good.
