We bought the 29th Avenue house at the end of 2013 and have been slowly giving this 1920s bungalow a facelift, room by room: first the bathroom, then the office, and now the master bedroom! The previous owners had painted every room in, apparently, the darkest colors they could find. Considering our home has tiny rooms, even smaller windows, and we live in Cloud City, USA aka Portland, the dark and dismal vibes just weren't going to cut it. So, "Operation Cheer Up" was born.

Earlier this week, I introduced you to the small converted attic that functions as our home office. It was a mishmash of furniture and stuff and things that we brought over from our previous home. Stuff and things and furniture that just didn't fit the space. Oh, and don't even get me started on the horror show that was the existing paint job... because I can't. I can't even.

29th Avenue: A Boring Bathroom Gets a Dark and Dramatic Makeover

Last fall, with two little dogs in tow, my husband and I picked up and moved to Portland, Oregon to fulfill our lifelong dream of living in the Pacific Northwest. (Yes, we left our light and airy dream kitchen back in Utah -- I think about it often. RIP) We were quick to get our roots planted in our new city, though, and have started transforming our 1920s bungalow into a Scandinavian-inspired dream home, starting with a full-blown, down-to-the-studs bathroom makeover!
