Can You Fit a Lamp in Your Living Room? Can You Fit a Horse?

We were in Paris last weekend to check out a gig and as usually happens when when you find yourself in a foreign city with no place to call a home spent many many hours wandering the streets window shopping. I've noticed Paris has a huge number of stylish furniture and design stores with a difference but when we peered into the window of this shop we were greeted by the sight of a full size, matt black horse (Not a real horse ok) with a lamp mounted on its head. A search on google quickly enlightened me as to the identity of those responsible for this bizarre and strangely wonderful modern design travesty. Front design are the outfit who you can either adore or despise for bringing this OBJECT into the world. It was created for MOOOI design a Dutch (Northern European AGAIN) design house you have rather a great collection of interesting furniture that exhibit modern colouring and some interesting textures. We snapped a pick or this THING and left the store front chuckling to ourselves and wondering how on earth you could pull this off in your living room and not be laughted at by at least half your guests. Notice there is also a matching pig tray holder, need I say more. I really dont know what I feel about this creation so I will simply include this quote from Douglas Huebler, The world is full of objects, more or less interesting: I do not wish to add any more. Every creator should think about this statement especially when they are halfway through moulding a two meter tall horse that will later form the base for a regular lamp. Can we be inspired by this? probably, but I'd like to hear other peoples take on such a piece.
