The pillows are 2 large pashminas bought on the streets of NYC for about $5 each - couldn't find the right color in teh fabric stores so.... inserts are 2 regular bed pillows per green pillow - again bought on the streets of NYC - the black squares are leather from a piece i had bought at Mood Fabrics a while back but could never figure out what to do with...

saw this in a mag somewhere along the way a while back... simply stripped a $4 lampshade from Ikea (the bases also came from there) and used basic metal wire window screening to make barrel shades. the metal creased nicely to made the bottom edge nice & clean & used the wire itself for the seam in the back.
originally intended to keep it totally straight & smooth but an accidental denting 'inspired' me to crumple the whole thing to make it a little funkier looking.

this is a hack of an old series of Ikea wall light - it came with a flat plastic sheet that had a flower or leaf image on it - but i replaced that with a square of plexi, covered in a decorative paper then a square of tin - floated above the plexi by 1/2" long snips of glue sticks. I then centered a test tune , held by a wire wrap, and in the test tube i put a fabric rose i made from decorative ribbon & floral wire.

was bored with standard ceiling light fixture so crafted the above one day...the 18" flex came from a lighting store in NYC along with the innards... the idea was to reshape the arms every so often but have left it in that same shape ever since it went up.

The lamp was a dollar or two at a thrift store, I spray painted it red and then decoupaged the colorful bands from flavored cigars all over it. They've got some kind of code/water mark type thing in them, so they've got interesting marks when you turn on the light. Better pics to come.

I finally put the pole lamp together and thought it would be nice in the corner. (I have moved the other lamp to a different room) The chrome ball-shaped thing is a very neat vintage fiber optic lamp I found. It's lights change colors and rotate, giving off a spectacular light show.
