City Flats Hotel in Holland, Michigan

My husband whisked me away for my birthday weekend to an incrediby cool Euro-style hotel in an unlikely location: Holland, Michigan. We're from Ann Arbor, so it was just a couple hours drive, well worth it for the two-person soaking tub in our suite.

The hotel's apparently a protoype by the company Hathaway, which designs office furniture. It has a real modern, Euro feel, including this giant wall of neon lighted windows which change color. The furniture was nice to look at, but little was comfortable.

Love this light fixture in the lounge area. Swirls of metal in a glowing orb.

The bar area.

Love the brown and green botanical themes in the hallways. Think it would make stunning fabric.

That looks gorgeous -- perhaps even more upscale than the City Flats. Great to have a place in mind if I ever make it to Minneapolis!

Wow... luxurious. Seems like a perfect weekend getaway. We tried the Graves 601 hotel in Minneapolis for our wedding, and it was similarly stylish:
