I like things simple and classic but I have a fun and whimsical side to myself as well - I just suck at expressing it. 

I love working on small little projects around the house but I'm bad about finishing things.  I always have brilliant ideas that I can't seem to follow through with because of "insert clever excuse here."  I guess being a working mom to two kids gets in the way of all my home improvement endeavors.  I'm a HUGE idealist - just gotta figure out a way to turn my ideas into finished goods, is all.

My latest feat has been "redecorating" our bathroom.  We have obnoxious, ugly blue fixtures from 1974 in there and can't afford to replace them.  Well, I guess if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.  So we did.  I was inspired by my longing to take a loooong, looooong vacation to the beach and I figured if I can't take a vacation right now, I'd bring the beach home to Chicago.  Ha!  I outwitted them again!  So, my bathroom is now my "beach cottage getaway."  I still have some accessorizing to do.  But none the less, I'm proud of myself.  A) For coming up with the idea (I tend not to be the most creative person in the world) and B) For actually finishing it!  Oh and for C) Cleaning my bathroom, because lord knows that doesn't happen nearly as often as it should either.
