I love this idea! It will work well with an old piano bench we have. Thanks so much.

Foam is extremely expensive! I had a piece of leftover foam from some other job I was doing.
What you can is to purchase a Goodwill loveseat, remove the foam cushions (as long as they are still in good shape) glue them together on the sides with a 3M foam glue (Hancock Fabrics) and then use them as one piece. You could also purchase two inexpensive vintage chairs to use the foam. I order mine from a supplier but it's still very expensive. Wait until Joann has a 1/2 coupon or some other sale.

I lOVE this idea and went to Walmart to pick up everything... except the foam! Where did you get yours? Every where I look it is going to cost about $60-$70.. any ideas???
Thanks!

love it. with that wide of a base, you could have chopped the top off completely and added a hinge. and added a piece to the bottom and made a storage area. but the bench like it is is nice. the fabric is a little busy for me, but thats cuz i need all the tame stuff to combat the chaos that is my house!

I hadn't ever thought of that! So cool, it's like one part bench, one part ottoman, one part tray table. Nice.
