Remove Wallpaper With an Iron

By phatato

If you're in the house-owning industry and it's an older home, more than likely you will come in contact with...WALLPAPER!  Money can be tight when it comes to home improvement, so an easy way to get rid of wallpaper without going out and buying products is...

Use your iron.

I found it very helpful to turn the knob on the iron to steam and hold it up and push the steam button a couple of times to loosen up the glue under the wallpaper. With your free hand, take a putty knife and scrape away.

It takes a bit of time, but it saves money on going out and renting a steamer.

It realy works. I did it myself about 5 years ago.  It's a great reason to have a party (a few friends their irons, the paper should be down in no time) because it can take a good bit of time.
