Welcome to Mid-Century Modern Month!

Friends, it’s a new year, and in 2010, Curbly’s gonna get a little theme-y.

Each month, we’ll be blogging and creating all kinds of fun and functional DIY projects around a specific topic, design movement, trend, and the like. This way, we can all learn a little more and continue to create homes and lifestyles where we can embrace the Curbly motto – Love where you live.

We’re dedicating January to Mid-Century Modernism, a design movement in the 1940s-1960s that sought to bring organic shapes, new manufacturing techniques, and an overall contemporary approach to post-war homes. Some of the greatest designs of the 20th century are associated with the mid-century movement, and we’re excited to share them with you.

To get started, check out this collection of Curbly articles and how-tos. And then, if you wanna create some mid-century inspired projects for your own home, check out Curbly’s new e-book, Make It! Mid-Century Modern.
