The Other Man's Convertibles

Can you guess what ordinary household item this Noguchi-inspired hanging light is made from? I came across this photo over on Dudecraft and just had to see more. You've got to see these way-out, clever conversions designed and implemented by artist, Rodney Allen Trice.

There must be a special connection in the brain that enables someone to take ordinary things and convert them into truly spectacular home furnishings. Rodney's site, The Other Man's Treasure, or T.O.M.T, is packed full of furniture, lighting, and home accessories which he refits into top notch, one of a kind pieces.
He must be a man after my own heart, he also teaches classes in his Brooklyn studio. I'm seriously considering a trip to NY for a concentrated series of classes.

Recycled, upcycled, repurposed and just downright smart!

Hi Shelly,
I checked out the TOMT site -- can you believe that stuff? So cool! How does a person's mind work that way?
My latest project is embroidering kitchen towels and pillow cases (ie: anthropology...) Fun!
See you in a couple weeks,
