Fabric and Embroidery Ikea Clock Makeover

By ModHomeEcTeacher

created at: 2009-03-26

Derek and Lauren over at Design Sponge have been tinkering with clocks. This inexpensive Ikea clock was taken apart and re-styled it into a quaint, cotton print, embroidered timepiece. You could swing this in a more mod vibe by covering the face with a solid color of felt, embroidering contrasting numbers and painting the frame in a modern coordinate color. The possibilities are endless and it looks like a relatively fast project. Make a few and give them as gifts to friends who spend endless hours sewing or working in their shop. See their step by step tutorial.

You'll need:

clock

scissors

fabric

marking pen

cardboard

spray paint

spray adhesive

embroidery hoop, needle and floss
