I've been planning to do this myself, and was thrilled to see a tutorial. But there's all this debate about fire hazards, which I don't really get. Anyone here have an opinion about that?
Talk to me about ripping up carpet...
By mi.joNever done this before, and I'm going to be on a tight tight schedule to install my laminate floors before moving into the new house.
There's a hideous thick carpet in there now, covering the living room and 3 small bedrooms. About 700-800 sq feet. I think it's tacked, not glued, though I won't know for sure, I guess till I start ripping it up.

Buying my own house and I can't even believe it. So now that I'm a homeowner I'm inspired to, for the first time, make a house a home. Love all the great design/diy ideas I see here. Can't wait to get my keys and get to work!
