Graphic Facilitator and artist Brandy Agerbeck thinks and draws for a living.
As a graphic facilitator, Brandy creates conceptual maps of conversations. Her images help people navigate the complex territory of her client's meetings, workshops, and conference. She works in a large scale format and in real time, visually synthesizing the discussions. Since 1996, she has facilitated groups from two to one thousand in the biotechnology, consulting, education, finance, food, medical, technology, transportation and utilities industries.
Brandy volunteers within her professional community, the International Forum of Visual Practitioners since 2000. She is a past board member and currently coordinating speakers for the 2009 conference in Montreal. She developed training in the skills of listening, organizing, synthesizing and drawing for those entering the field. Her work has been published internationally and can be seen at GraphicFacilitator.com.
As an artist, Brandy mixes drawing, collage and silkscreening. Through small scale works on paper, she explores the idea of space and spatial relationships. She also explores the ideas of how people make sense of their spaces and their systems. In 1996, she earned her BA in Studio Art from Grinnell College with a focus on intaglio printmaking.
In the spring of 1999, Brandy launched Loosetooth.com to document all of her work: art, craft, graphic facilitation, digital photography and blogging. Since 2003, she has tracked over two million visitors to her website.
Brandy loves living in Chicago with a very handsome cat named Gunther. She's very fond of an ethics professor who lives too far away. She's watches many, many movies, especially enjoying spy and heist flicks. She enjoys singing torchsongs loudly. Brandy hopes you're enjoying her site.
