My first attempt at a DIY project - a coffee table! I used pieces of wood from a bedframe I had ordered that was delivered to me in a demolished state. I've since received a new (and intact) bedframe, but was allowed to keep the demolished one to dispose of. There were plenty of good pieces of finished wood left (some finished in a black/brown espresso color), so I used one of them to create the table base and added a surrounding border (which I decided to stain a deep sangria red color). I purchased some funky powder-coated steel table legs from Ikea and fastened them to the base. For a design idea that only existed in my head (and that friends affectionately mocked me for when I told them about my coffee table project plans), it turned out pretty well!!!
