Talk and Live Like a Pirate!

By lilybee

In honour of International Talk Like A Pirate Day here's a few ways you could cease to be a landlubber and move your ah, booty onto the open seas.

Starting with a real Pirate Ship.

This 47' Ketch by Vagabond looks the part, it sleeps 6 and has 2, 'heads'. (I think that means loos). It's berthed in Spain and can be yours for only 139,000 euro... or possibly some gold doubloons.

Don't know how to sail? How about a 56' motor yacht?

This one is also berthed in Spain, it sleeps 8 and it's kitchen has:

  • Ceramic hob with Bosch extractor
  • Siemens top line electronic microwave oven and Grill
  • Dual Voltage Nordcold fridge and freezer
  • Dishwasher Siemens Lady 45
  • Marine appliances trash compactor
  • Indesit Washer/Dryer
  • Ice maker U-line

Which is a bunch more kitchen equipment than my flat has. It'll set you back 332,000 euro.

Afraid of the Kracken and not looking to hit the deep water? What about a Starlite houseboat?

This one has 3 bedrooms 2 baths and a HOT TUB! Because pirates like a good soak under the stars. it will set you back $349,000.

If the piracy has been hard going and you're looking for a less expensive option what about this sweet little aqua-lodge?

It has one bedroom, a kitchen, a full size shower and (my very favorite part) a picket fence! it can be yours for $51.829.

Last year we did a boy monkey, this year it's a dk chocolate brown monkey with pink gingham trim. The horses are going to be a black one and a palomino.  The bunny will be off white with pink.

I'll just say, in all modesty, these costumes will be so freakin' cute. They take a piece of their trim fabric and I add a backing to it.  They take them to a shop be monogrammed.  Then we cut them in an oval shape and zig zag the oval monogram on to the "animal's" chest/tummy. They even invited me to their Halloween costume party last year. All the moms make them but it is painstaking!
