Five inspirational vintage bathroom designs
By lesley
Ok so most of us don't have the space for jaw dropping batrooms like these. And I'm not even going to talk about money. But a girl can dream...
There are five luxury bathroom designs on show on the page. They are are all roughly historical, reflecting the British styles of their period.
The first - probably my favourite, is a colonial bathroom. A sort of misty dream of where the khaki-shorted Englishman running india in the first half of the last century would bathe.

The second is an eighteenth centry bathroom. And it's - well - just look, it's the sort of place where you would feel like royalty just by dipping your toe in the water. The only reason I prefer the Colonial bathroom is because I just don't think I feel grand enough.
The third is called Girly Heaven. Can't say I'ld want this one. What I like about the others is that they would transform a boring everyday bath into a calm and almost transcendental experience. The girly bathroom looks too messy for that.

Maybe the amazing wallpaper (sourced from an original design at London's Victoria and Albert Museum) and balanced layout might provide inspiration for more uncoventional bathers.
There are two more - a fantastically elegant grey deco bathroom and a gentlemanly looking Morris bathroom, loosely based on some of the ideas of early twentieth centry designer William Morris.
As must be obvious, I do love these bathrooms. I would be very interested to hear what other people think.
