I want (big square wall tiles)on my walls. Where do they come from?

By kiddynomite

I want to use this tiled-wall-effect in my bedroom, but I know nothing about it other than I like it. What is it called? How is it done? What materials are used? Any and all information would be enormously appreciated.

And if you're really clever.. you could faux paint it with the help of chalk lines.  I prefer fabric though, always.

This is really cool and seems to be a big trend these days.  They're popping up everywhere.  Really it's just stapling fabric over plywood/MDF/foam (something ridged.)  What ever you can find that is cheap.  Get cheap fabric, or you can even paint it for a harder surface, and a surface that you can more easily clean.

Hey kiddynomite, take a look at my post on Big Art Love. You could adapt this to make your pannels, just as VintageSwank suggested!!

The ones in the photo on the book cover look like they may be fabric covered panels. You could make these :)

Respect. That's exactly what I was looking for. I just bought the panels for my kitchen from inhabit, but I am still looking for solid panels for my bedroom. Knowing they are called panels and not tiles has vastly helped in my search, which continues...

Well there are few variations on this type of paneling. There are a few companies that produce a variety of wood an synthetic wall panels similar to the photo you have shown above. There are also very wild textured and pattern options as well.

You should check out some this really cool panleing that is a bit more wild. This is the type of stuff you would see in high end clubs and bars or really mod homes. You should check out http://www.modulararts.com/  , http://www.bnind.com/iconic.asp and http://www.inhabitliving.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=20 for some really wild and amazing paneling options.
