Office Art (we're there more than our homes)

business card art

What the heck do you do with all those business cards? Do you still have a rolodex that you actually use? Not me. While most business cards aren't that attractive, when you hang them all up next to each other on a big wall, you have a beautiful piece of art. Well, I like it anyway. Of course, my business is design so maybe it's more appropriate for me. This photo shows about 1/5 of the cards on my wall, and there's still a few more (hundred) that I have to hang up. I'm hoping to get my entire office (the blank walls) covered some day. Want to contribute? Send me your card: Catalyst Studios, 126 N 3rd St, Suite 200, Minneapolis, MN 55401

Great tip! I linked to it over on my eco-style blog and added some suggestions for folks looking to experiment. If anyone wants to post their office masterpieces feel free to come on by.

I can see this being both beautiful and useful. Hunting through this wallscape for a name would be a lot like hunting through memory. I'm going to do this in my home office...

The only organization thought was to not put too many all white (which is most) cards together...so incorporate a more colorful one here an there. Also, since it's an evolving project, I didn't want to plan something that had to be redone later.

They do look good. Have you got them organized by job title or type of service or purely aesthetically?

I like it too. It's kind of like collections people have in their homes: they always look better in groups rather than scattered about! ;)
