Description:

Here are two of the coffee tables during the finishing process. They have been stained and were just clear-coated with a highly-durable, high quality polyurethane that should withstand a high degree of abuse.

It's a catalyzed polyurethane from an Italian company called ICA.  It's applied in two stages - 1-2 sealer coats, and 2-3 finish coats.  The customer wanted a high-gloss finish, which I personally didn't like -- even though it's durable, it still shows a lot more wear than a lower-sheen finish.  It was the first time I used this product.  I delivered the tables a little less than a year ago, and they seem to be holding up pretty well so far.

Most of the built-in furniture that I install is sprayed with lacquer from Chemcraft.  It's easy to touch-up onsite, and also easy to work with in a dirty spray room.  It dries quickly, and smells horribly - wear a respirator.
