Installing crown molding - what to do about brick wall???

By johnnymal

I'm having some crown molding installed next week throughout my apartment and I'm a bit perplexed.  One of my rooms has a brick wall and I'm not sure if the molding should extend around the whole room, including the brick wall.  Also if i have it installed on the brick wall, how is this done????  Does anyone have pictures of molding on brick?  I'd love to see.

I've attached a pic of my dining room.  It is no longer this color and has different furniture and lighting but it's the only pic of the wall i had.  The second pic shows what it looks like now.  Please help!!

I had crown molding installed in my apartment, which has some concrete walls and also concrete ceiling.

In those concrete only areas, the person who installed the crown molding cut triangle wedges in wood and fixed them to the wall and ceiling with liquid nail, every 30 inches one from another. Then he nailed the crown molding to those wedges instead of the wall.

Sorry, it was done a while ago and I didn't take pictures. Hope it helps.
