Thank you for replying so quickly to my info request yesterday about NOLA. I'll make a few calls tomorrow. Yes, Mardi Gras time is expensive and limited rooms.
Thank You Again!

I see you are from NOLA....Welcome to Curbly.com
I posted this today and thought you might have a suggestion for me..Thanks!
Hi,
OT...Locate person working in New Orleans: I may go for my 2nd visit to New Orleans, La (NOLA) for Mardi Gras & maybe some volunteering-they still need alot of help.
First time I was a volunteer (unofficial Red Cross, construction, animal rescue, military/police & concerned citizen) and shared a tent at a grassroots animal rescue group in a Winn-Dixie parking lot in Orleans Parish. I am trying to re-locate tentmate, born in NOLA, who moved back to NOLA right after Katrina & has been working construction/clean-up. His cell phone # is no longer current. I want to tell him I my come to NOLA and I was always welcomed to stay at whatever house he was renovating, post-katrina (PK). I told him the same last year but never made it. I also owe him some photos of our volunteer efforts. He did not have a camera then.
So, I have his first & last name, Sam aka Sammy. He first was working doing street cleanup in Orleans parish. Know he has stayed at one or more disaster houses trading rent for rehabbing. He was a great Pitt/Rott animal rescuer. Kind, honest, gentle, small but brave....Sammy, I mean, but most of the dogs were too once they learned we were their friends and had food. :)
Alternate lodging: If I can't find him or if no lodging w/ him then I need to reserve a room. I can't stay at last location (WD parking lot) cause I heard they just reopened last month. :) I would also enjoy giving a few days doing volunteer rehabbing for some organization, residential or other.
