Cleaning favorites

By jasimar

My sister-in-law and I are new parents, relatively at least (no pun, intended).  We're new home owners, too.  We're both interested in having as few products around the house as we can as well as healthier alternatives to the more chemical products out there.  So we're out for simplicity and non-toxicity. heh.  What are your favorites in these catagories?

Suggestions for streamlining, please consider windows, wood, floors, kitchen, bathrooms, etc.

Oh and on the subject, I remember a post about the wonders of baking soda.  Do you think I could make my own "soft scrub"-like product?  Maybe a squirt bottle, baking soda/water paste, drop of olive oil for lubrication and a few drops of lemon juice for scent?  Would this work?  Is there a better way to pre-make this stuff and keep it around for awhile?
