I am a crafter at heart. I love art, decorating, and anything project-y. I am particularly drawn to things with great texture. I love to experiment with different combinations of yarn, fabric and paint.
I took the summer off from school to putter around my new apartment and complete some projects that are in my head. I am currently into buttons, and am working on getting my vision out of my head and into my life.

How you too can own Jabba the Hut
By jamievogel
I'm sorry. This made me laugh out loud and I just had to share. Craftzine is one of my favorite blogs and they say this:
Jabba is 100% wool with the exception of two beads, two glass eyes and quite tightly needle felted. He's not at all delicate and will only get better the more he's handled.
Jabba was the character that attracted me most from the Star Wars series. Even though he's quite a bad guy I imagined what he must have been like as a » READ MORE
How to create a button wall hanging
By jamievogelI have recently discovered a facination for buttons and projects using them. Here is my project this weekend for my bathroom.

Materials needed:
- Long, thin wooden beads
- Buttons, any colors you choose
- Glass and bead glue(this is important, it has to be thick like hot glue, but work on slick surfaces)
- Flat canvas or masonite
- Acrylic paint
- Grosgrain ribbon
First, I painted a flat canvas that I bought at Joann Fabrics. I used two colors, and divided them with a thin strip of grosgrain ribbon(I hot glued the edges to the back of the canvas).
While the paint was drying, I layed out wooden beads and buttons on another canvas to get an idea of what I wanted the final project to look like.
