After months and months and months of searching for the perfect vintage couch, I finally found it at Crate & Barrel of all places! I ordered this Rochelle couch, based on a 60's design from them two weeks ago and it just arrived...I was hesitant to get some "new" but there are a lot of advantages in getting repros. The truth is, often furniture is just better constructed now a days and since a couch is a pretty big investment, after awhile, being snobby about it's age seemed silly.
Here is the before with my old couch, a $50 yard sale find that looked good from afar...
So, I think I have shown, if the style is right, you can mix old with new! I had to make some adjustments for this slightly bigger couch, so I turned my side tables and moved the stools from underneath to the front which also helps with the deeper cut of the couch. This is a milestone for me, the first piece of new furniture I have ever bought and I could not be happier!

i like the couch the pink chair has the same material on it as my great-grandmothers coach really like it
