My sense of style is comfortable. I don't think anything can truly be stylish unless the person living in it or wearing it feels comfortable.

I love my house for its woodwork... you couldn't buy a built-in, hand-carved hutch like we have in our dining room these days. I also love the huge deck out front that's surrounded by trees, it makes you feel like you're living in some sort of canopy, and also affords us a lot of privacy when we're out there.

Overall, I really appreciate any design that works well with its surroundings. Sometimes that's Frank Loyd Wright, sometimes Frank Gehry. I'm also a fan of the simple utilitarian, which -- thought it might seem strange -- is why I love my Gransfor Bruks Scandinavian Forest Axe. I also like a lot of other outdoors gear, from Filson and Woolrich to nice shotguns, even though I don't hunt. :)

Welcome to Curbly! You mentioned an appreciation for woodwork. That's something I like about my home, The Mobile Hermitage, is that it has some beautiful woodwork on the outside (cedar) and inside (pine). ~ Gregory

Hey Greg, let's see one of those hand-carved areas in your house. Actually, how 'bout entering one of those pics in the "happy place" contest. There aren't a lot of users yet, so your chances of winning are purty good!
