Does Your Apartment or Rental Prohibit Painting?

By gregoryjohnson

Desk with fabric backdrop.Decorative fabric makes an excellent backdrop particularly in a rented room or apartment where painting isn't an option. It can add texture and patters that wouldn't otherwise be possible with paint or wall-paper. It's also easy to change when you get bored of it - unlike paint or wall-paper.

Pictured here is a desk with very sheer fabric hanging on the wall behind it. The fabric has natural earth tones and a pattern of various leaves.

On the desk are small naturally colorful smooth stones.

There is a picture frame with pressed flowers in antique glass surrounding a motivational quote.

More about this room can be found here.

I love this way of wallpapering, so different than my parents who covered everything! I'm planning to use some of the 70's wallpaper to do something similar once we renovate my flat. Link to their gallery here.
