Your Mobile

By fakerolex

hey stylish people. (read: people with good taste)

Apart from Apple's iPhone, what are the best mobile phone designs out there? most sought after?
I am infatuated with the Helio line of stuff....good form factor and navigation.

Since my network won't work with a Helio phone, I decided to go with the new Motorola MOTOFONE F3.
Check it out.

No camera, no bloated GUI to get in the way. Form follows function on this one. It's a phone and nothing more. finally.

Here's a question you might be able to help with. I'm looking to upgrade from my Nokia 3595 to something a little more, um... modern.

Here's my old brick (not stylish, but sturdy):

Any thoughts?

I'm really looking forward to the new W880 from SonyEricsson. It's still a "mystery" one, but  some pictures leaked somewhere.

I like the futuristic design and the shiny metal covers of it.

Anyway - the coder in me also thinks that the greenphones have a really nice idea behind them. In fact I was asking myself for years why there is no open plattform for people to create an open sourced phone.

Maybe it's just the computer programmer in me, but I love these greenphones

On top of a cool design (I could go either way with the color) they are completely open source, meaning anyone can develop software for them. Statistics say you aren't a developer, but it's open-ness allows you to use the programs other people develop... ie. wouldn't it be great if you didn't have to buy a program that let you play a game, or attach specific ringtones to specific callers? Shoot, why not have your ringtone be a randomly selected song from your music library? or have a program that lets you auto-respond to text messages... like an away message in a chat program.... the ideas are endless -- all in a very cool looking phone.
