@George: If you're looking for more ideas/resources on Arts & Crafts; I'd recommend checking your local bookstore for a magazine called American Bungalow.  It published quarterly and is filled with articles about Arts & Crafts and bungalows.  Plus they've got ads from a wide variety of companies specializing in Arts & Crafts furniture, hardware, etc...

Don't think of them as dining table alcoves, but breakfast nooks.  The idea behind them is to have informal meals together as a family right there by the kitchen vs. using the formal dining room.  Then again, one could always repurpose that space to be a desk or storage or whatever.

Alot of dining table alcoves in there. Definetely not my cup of tea :S What's your thoughts on them?
