Could this be the ugliest house in Chester County?  It is on 1.1 acres in a really nice neighborhood, but seems like it is a renovation project gone absolutely wrong.  I do love my house that we currently live in, but in anticipation of expanding our family in the next couple of years, we are outgrowing our current abode and looking to buy a 'fixer upper' to 'whole-house' renovate.  Unfortunately, because of where our house is in town, we are not really able to add-on, or that is definitely what my vote would be.  I an not anti-new construction, but I feel strongly that we need to be reusing and recycling our exisiting housing stock and hopefully slow-down the insatiable appetite our country has for farmland (to build mc mansions on).  Oops.  Got up on my soap box again.

BTW, the brown color that you see surrounding the double white doors is actually plywood painted brown.  The house is a foreclosure that the bank now owns.  Apparently, the previous homeowners did some damage to the house before they left.  I think that may be the reason for the plywood over the windows.

What you can't see all the way to the left is an old 18" thick stone wall and some huge 8x8 old wood beams sticking out of the house.  I suspect (because there is a silo down the street) that this was a barn back when the surrounding property was part of a farm.
